Time Will Tell

This most recent project is a conclusion and translation of experiences, contemplation and research around the
notion of impermanence, outside and within.

This body of work came together through an archive that was created over the past 6 years and consists of the temporary print project,
the zine ‘time will tell’ and was concluded with an exhibition I curated that took place on the 1st of November 2019 involving multiple
artists who have created work around these concepts.

‘if everything is temporary, what is forever and if nothing belongs, what will ever be mine?’

Through loss and change we are all experiencing these notions of impermanence and it affects us in various ways.
In regards of love, friendship, career, life and death; external factors that impact us emotionally, or whether we experience
it from inside out, thought and action create external effect.

Whether I was being fired from jobs, experienced ended love and friendship or contemplated on the impermanence of things in the exterior;
I often let myself be affected by emotion, fighting the circumstances rather than accepting and surrendering to the given changes.

The photographic work I created in these times often reflected on what I was experiencing. The images seemed to build a link between
my internal thoughts and my external reality. They surfaced questions and helped me to understand my current reality, let go of attachment
and see the teachings rather than grief.

zine

24pp newspaper style, 420 x 297mm
Printed 4/4 on 55gsm Newsprint

From the archive of the past 6 years I selected photographs that were created in these times. I translated these photographs,
the reflections and following research around these concepts into the newspaper style zine ‘Time Will Tell’.
The imagery is put in context with personal poetry and writing from F. Nietzsche.

The zine is limited to 50 editions and is available here.

temporary print project

Photographs taken from the ‘temporary’ archive and printed with a malfunctioning printer/ink jet on A4 standard 80gsm and on 55gsm lined paper.

Slowly running out ink as well as the malfunctioning of the print device resulted in abstracted versions of the print files.
I was able to print around 150 images before the ink ran out and the temporary print project came to an end.

Below a selection of these prints, some of them are shown juxtaposed with their originals.
The originals of these unique prints are available to purchase on enquiry. Scans of the originals will not be sold.

exhibition

Throughout 2019 I started thinking about concluding the created work through an exhibition where I would
launch the zine ‘Time Will Tell’ and firstly showcase the recently created print project ‘temporary’.

During the process I have been in discussions with various friends and artists, realising the relevance and
complexity of these concepts which resonate with many people in various ways. Considering their
viewpoints based on their personal observations let ideas for the exhibition grow.

The seven artists who I have invited to be part of this multi-disciplinary exhibition were showcasing
work that expresses their personal interpretation and research around these notions. This allowed us to convey
the concept in a more complete form, considering and showing various perspectives in an engaging way,
giving the viewers space for self-reflection.

Artists: Clara and Elena Brea (Live AV), Mai Nguyen Tri (Butoh dance performance), Overbeck (Live A),
Max Burstyn (interactive AV installation), Denise Padrón Benitez (V Installation), Jay (Sculpture).

The exhibition took place in a temporary space, a Hackney Wick warehouse, on the 1st of November 2019.
Around 150 people attended the event.
