Time Will Tell
2012-2019
Time Will Tell is a conclusion and translation of experiences, contemplations and research around the notion of impermanence.
‘if everything is temporary, what is forever? If nothing belongs, what will ever be mine?’
I experienced the temporariness of things thorugh loss and change in various situations. Whether it was in ceonnection to career, love, friendship, attachment or life and death. Whether it was me being fired from jobs, losing firends, ended love, attachment to material things, or close ones passing away. Each time I would have to fdeal with this feeling of loss and face the consequences. I often let myself be affected by emotion, fihgting the circumstances rather than accepting and surrendering to the incoming changes. Many photographs I have created in these times often reflected on these sentiments and showed up interesting links between the internal and the external. The imagery lead to self reflection and writing, which helped me to innerstand and accept what I was experiencing and see the teachings rather than grief.
This body of work consists of a photographic archive from which I’ve selected images to create the zine ‘Time Will Tell’ and came to print around 100 of them on a malfunctioning printer in the Summer of 2019 and was concluded in November 2019 with the exhibition I curated that took place in a former factory space on Fish Island, Bow E3 involving artists who were showing artworks based on their own experiences with the impermanent.
zine
24pp newspaper style, 420 x 297mm
Printed 4/4 on 55gsm Newsprint
From the archive of the past 6 years I selected photographs that were created in these times. I translated these photographs,
the reflections and following research around these concepts into the newspaper style zine ‘Time Will Tell’.
The imagery is put in context with personal poetry and writing from F. Nietzsche.
The zine is limited to 50 editions and is available here.
temporary print project
Photographs taken from the ‘temporary’ archive and printed with a malfunctioning printer/ink jet on A4 standard 80gsm and on 55gsm lined paper.
Slowly running out ink as well as the malfunctioning of the print device resulted in abstracted versions of the print files.
I was able to print around 150 images before the ink ran out and the temporary print project came to an end.
Below a selection of these prints, some of them are shown juxtaposed with their originals.
The originals of these unique prints are available to purchase on enquiry. Scans of the originals will not be sold.

exhibition
Throughout 2019 I started thinking about concluding the created work through an exhibition where I would
launch the zine ‘Time Will Tell’ and firstly showcase the recently created print project ‘temporary’.
During the process I have been in discussions with various friends and artists, realising the relevance and
complexity of these concepts which resonate with many people in various ways. Considering their
viewpoints based on their personal observations let ideas for the exhibition grow.
The seven artists who I have invited to be part of this multi-disciplinary exhibition were showcasing
work that expresses their personal interpretation and research around these notions. This allowed us to convey
the concept in a more complete form, considering and showing various perspectives in an engaging way,
giving the viewers space for self-reflection.
Artists: Clara and Elena Brea (Live AV), Mai Nguyen Tri (Butoh dance performance), Overbeck (Live A),
Max Burstyn (interactive AV installation), Denise Padrón Benitez (V Installation), Jay (Sculpture).
The exhibition took place in a temporary space, a Hackney Wick warehouse, on the 1st of November 2019.
Around 150 people attended the event.
